{"id":10829,"date":"2018-10-04T14:58:26","date_gmt":"2018-10-04T18:58:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cegepadistance.ca\/?page_id=10829"},"modified":"2026-01-14T14:32:54","modified_gmt":"2026-01-14T19:32:54","slug":"cegep-a-distance-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/ftp.cegepadistance.ca\/en\/cegep-a-distance-2\/","title":{"rendered":"C\u00e9gep \u00e0 distance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>C\u00e9gep \u00e0 distance was created on April 1, 1991, by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/cegepadistance.ca\/en\/home-students\/cegep-a-distance\/college-de-rosemont\/\" title=\"C\u00e9gep de Rosemont\">C\u00e9gep de Rosemont<\/a> to fulfil a mandate entrusted to it by the Minist\u00e8re de l\u2019Enseignement sup\u00e9rieur (MES) to develop and offer college-level distance education in Quebec.\u00a0 Initially known as the CCFD (<em>Centre coll\u00e9gial de formation \u00e0 distance<\/em>), C\u00e9gep \u00e0 distance adopted its new moniker in 2002. In 2005, the ministry extended C\u00e9gep \u00e0 distance&#8217;s mandate to include college-level courses for the English community.<\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-CA\">In addition to admitting adult students who register directly with C\u00e9gep \u00e0 distance, we work with all colleges in Qu\u00e9bec by welcoming their students in order to help them in their academic progress and earn a diploma more quickly.<\/span><span lang=\"EN-CA\"> For more information, visit the page entitled <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/cegepadistance.ca\/en\/home-students\/study\/student-already-enrolled-in-another-cegep\/\" title=\"Inscrit dans un autre coll\u00e8ge\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Student already enrolled in another CEGEP<\/span><\/a><span lang=\"EN-CA\">.<\/span><span lang=\"EN-CA\"><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Our strategic plan<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-CA\">The activities of C\u00e9gep \u00e0 distance are part of the C\u00e9gep de Rosemont 2018\u20132023 strategic plan, which is summarized <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.crosemont.qc.ca\/le-college\/plan-strategique\/\"><span lang=\"EN-CA\">here<\/span><\/a><span lang=\"EN-CA\">\u00a0(in French).<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Our model<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-CA\">C\u00e9gep \u00e0 distance develops <b>self-contained, self-paced asynchronous courses<\/b>. Each student benefits from <strong>tailored support and supervision<\/strong>. Registration is available on <b>a continuous-intake <\/b>basis and the students have <b>variable completion dates<\/b>. <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Self-contained course<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"EN-CA\">: A self-contained course contains all the educational material, content, exercises and assessments necessary for it to be completed independently by the student.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Asynchronous approach<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"EN-CA\">: The asynchronous approach means that the student studies when and where it is convenient for them. The studies are therefore tailored to their needs.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Tailored support and supervision<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"EN-CA\">: Our Educational Planning and Organization Sector team and our tutors offer professional services that are adapted to each student, from the moment that a request for admission is received until the completion of the course or the granting of a diploma.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b><span lang=\"EN-CA\">Continuous intake and variable completion<\/span><\/b><span lang=\"EN-CA\">: Registration is available year-round, and students can begin their course as soon as they have access to their materials and the on-line learning environment. They can finish the course at their own pace within the period specified by the C\u00e9gep \u00e0 distance rules, individually, without being registered in a specific
