How to get assistance measures
To take advantage of assistance measures, you have to take certain steps.
Here they are, depending on your situation:
I AM REGISTERED WITH CÉGEP À DISTANCE (without a commandite from my CEGEP)
-
- Be registered in a course at Cégep à distance.
- Provide proof of diagnosis signed by a healthcare professional who belongs to a recognized professional order.
- Submit both the proof of diagnosis AND the completed Authorization to transmit information related to my disability form.
See our Forms. - Make an appointment with Student Accessibility Services using the Bookings link that will be sent to you to develop an intervention plan, which you will have to sign and return to us.
I AM REGISTERED WITH A COMMANDITE FROM MY CEGEP
You will have to declare your diagnosis every time you register for a course, and we will contact your CEGEP.
We do not accept intervention plans provided by a student.
FAQ
Can I use the intervention plan from my home CEGEP?
No. Measures granted by another CEGEP are only valid in that CEGEP. However, if you are a commandite student, we will contact your home CEGEP to obtain the list of measures that were granted to you, in order to offer, if possible, equivalent accommodations.
What accommodations does Cégep à distance offer?
Cégep à distance offers several types of accommodations, such as additional time for assignments and exams, special software or accessible documents.
I have the right to additional time in my home CEGEP. Can I have additional time for my written examination here too?
In general, yes. It will depend on the measures specified for your case, however.
Do the documents have an expiration date?
No. There is no time limit on documents.
What kinds of professional assessments are accepted?
Only assessments from professionals who are members of a professional order are accepted.
How will I be informed about my measures?
If you declared a need when submitting your admission or registration and are admitted, the Student Accessibility Services advisor from Cégep de Rosemont will send you an intervention plan. You will need to read it, sign it, and return it.
If you are a commandite student, you will be informed by email of the accommodations that have been approved and confirmed by your home CEGEP.
